Silver Temple Door
Architectural, Architectural- ALL, DoorsThis antique temple door was originally part of a Jain temple. The wooden door is clad in German silver. A floral and vine design frames the door while a symbolic sun and deer sitting in a crescent moon adorn each top corner. The bottom of the door shows two dwarpals, or door guards. This door can open fully, or the back panels can open independently allowing you to see through the bars. This is a unique feature to temple doors. When the temple was closed, the back panels would be opened to serve like a window. The open window allowed the public to see inside and to worship outside of the temple’s operating hours.$4,500.00- Wood door clad in German silver
