This is a truly exquisite cloisonné door. The dual panels are carved with square reliefs that showcase the cloisonné work. German silver (EPNS) on wood.
Cloisonné is the difficult process of creating different shapes and patterns from copper wires. Fine enamel powders are then carefully placed inside each shape. The piece is placed in a kiln until the enamel is dry and settles to a uniform thickness.
*Dimensions are rounded and are for reference only. Condition is good overall with normal wear consistent with age and use.
